6. Frederick
I chose Dancing Barefoot but yeah, Frederick should be there too. "My soul surrenders, astonished to death."

4. I haven't even chosen yet
because I seriously have to think about it. Free Money used to be one of my top 5 all-time favorite songs. It probably was number one on my personal charts for a time. But Dancing Barefoot is such a haunting song. And Gloria is...what can I say? I'm also totally crazy about Glitter in Their Eyes. I just have to give this some thought.

7. People say I'm crazy for liking Television and not Smith
But that's the way I am, I suppose. It's not bad music, I just never feel like listening to it.

8. No, you're not!
I feel exactly the same way. And Tom Verlaine, for all his awkwardness/waywardness, doesn't have any of the "I'm a serious poet/artist" crap that comes out every time Patti Smith opens her mouth to do anything other than sing.
That said, "Horses" is a great album and so is "Easter" and even about half of "Radio Ethiopia"

9. hard to pick just one
but Dancing Barefoot is probably my favorite. I love her... finally got to see perform twice in the last 2-3 years. She is an amazing performer, whether all rock and roll or poetry and art.

18. "Serious Artist"
I once had the honor of conducting an hour-long interview with Mrs. Smith.

Serious, yes. Serious artist? She was as humble as they come, a direct communicator, and a very, very, very nice person.

19. That's my impression.
She also has more of a sense of humor than meets the ear, and an honest appraisal of herself. And I like both her and Tom Verlaine.
