Best Pop-up Blocker?
I'm demo'ing StopZilla and must say it's very good. A couple of pop-ups have squeaked by, but nothing like the avalanche I usually get.

2. Hmmm...not familiar with it.
Is it a pop-up blocker or more than that?

13. It adds a Google toolbar to your IE toolbar.
Handy for doing searches, but the best part by far is the pop-up blocker. It's free. Go to google.com and click "google tools" at the bottom. Don't choose the advanced version though. It's not much better than the standard (you get the pop-up blocker with either) and allows google to track your browsing.

It stops almost all popups AND you can search on google anywhere.

Also its super easy to turn the popu blocker off when you visit a page that turns into a popup or something

4. Avant Browser for me...
www.avantbrowser.com It installes over IE and has tons of very cool features and the built in pop up blockers is excellent! And it's as simple as one click to turn it on and off.

22. AVANT BROWSER For Me As Well... It's FANTASTIC
I love the EASY EASY ability to disable/enable popups, javascripts, and especially FLASH animations.

With the Avant Browser, the menu options for turning these functions on and off are MUCH easeir to access compared to regular MSIE's method of burying them DEEP within a tabbed dialog box (then having to scroll through 3 dozen other options).

Avant's click-on/click-off is truly inspired.

11. Spybot and AdAware
In combo they're by far the best for removing spyware. And they're both free :).

As far as they're working at work. Depends on your employer's network setup. You might want to check with your network administrator.

12. There are some really good ones
Spyware is just as bad as pop-up ads. I use Ad-Aware and it works fine for me. There are other programs, but I forgot their names.

Ad Aware is simple to use.

Sometimes, when you go to a website, the website will transfer tracking software onto your computer without your knowledge. This tracking software will look at the websites that you go to and send it back to its host location for processing.

Is it an invasion of privacy? I think so. Does it make your computer slower? Yes. So get the spyware today and see your worries go away. :-)

Cheers

14. So...
Ad Aware is a SpyWare program? In other words, it gets rid of the tracking and will make my computer faster?

15. ad aware is not spyware, it's a spyware killer
it finds and destroys the trojans and spyware programs on your computer, and will probably decrease the number of pop-ups. It's a good thing :-)

20. well
It's only free until june 2004 - by then the Service Pack #2 should have adressed the issues (will include pop-up blocker and new firewall).
And one has to register in order to get the software.

Panicware's "pop-up blocker", the free version. It works fine and can be turned off with one click if you need to access a pop-up for a poll or something like that.

29. Netscpe7.x on my eMac
Since I got my new machine and installed the latest Netscape version I haven't had a single popup or popunder. Internet Explorer is terrible, and I still get some on Netscape 7.1 for Windows, but browsing popup free at home is a refreshing experience.
