Discussion Questions
1. The volcanic eruption of Krakatoa in 1883 was heard by sailors off the coast of rodriguez Island, nearly 3,000 miles away. That is the equivalent of sound travelling from San Francisco to Washington. How did this happen? Discuss.

2. The Church of Satan founded by Anton LaVey claims to not allow harming others. But the Church of Satan sent support to Richard Ramirez, The Night Stalker, a convicted serial killer and rapist. LaVey's daughter visied Ramirez often and LaVey often prayed to Satan for fellow Satanist Ramirez. Why did they do this? Discuss.

3. In 1944, German Military Officers attempted to kill Hitler by putting a bomb in his HQ. Colonel Count Von Stauffenberg placed the bomb next to a table in the room. The bomb detonated but Hitler was not hurt, although several were killed or crippled. Was fate preserving Hitler for a reason? Discuss.

4. At the scene of the Nicole Brown Simpson/Ronald Goldman murder scene there were two sets of suspect prints---one in OJ's size and another smaller set. Do you think that there were two killers involved? Was OJ involved? Discuss.

5. Do you think Flanders on the Simpsons is a Republican? How about Smithers. Give Evidence to support your claims.

6. Who was your favorite charecter on Seinfeld? Why? Discuss.

7. Mao Tse Tung rarely bathed and did not brush his teeth, but had sex with thousands of women. How disgusting is this to you? Discuss.

3. not a hippy
just really really dirty. He did not like flush toilets, and even when he lived in a Palace, he often went out to the gardens to take a dump.

4. My favorite character on Seinfeld? Kramer.
Kramer was pretty cool. Plus, of the 4 lead characters, he was the least self absorbed.

Kramer had a style all his own.

I just liked Kramer more than Jerry, Elaine and George.

5. Flanders has the spirit to be Dem, but is way too evangelical to be so.
Hitler was just lucky. Some people are.

8. HItler
If Hitler had died early, a competent military person may have taken over his position, preventing some of Hitler's insane mistakes later.

10. Sound
This is not the equivalent of sound travelling from SF to Washington (presumably D.C.) because that would be travelling over land where buildings, mountains and other obstructions would break up the sound wave.

Over the ocean there would be little in the way, and the even pattern of waves on the water would act as an amplifier for certain frequencies.

11. OK
1. It was very very very loud - left only a third of the island above water and caused "red" sunsets across the planet for 3 years - apparently Edvard Munch was inspired by the unusual sunsets in his painting The Scream (a bit of a Krakatoa + Santorini junkie)

2. Plenty of Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic etc institutions also helped out murderers for whatever reason - sometimes it's simply that no-one else will help - although the equally accurate answer would be that Le Vey lot are probably full of shit

3. Nope Hitler lived cos he was lucky - althought reminds me of the BIll Hicks piece "You know what I hate? Irony. John Lennon murdered, Ghandi murdered, Jesus murdered, Reagan wounded"

The Lion of Panshjir can be killed by a bomb but Hitler can't - another plank in my atheism

4. Knowing what I do about jealous violent partners OJ seemed to be a textbook example - I think he did it himself and like many many people who kill partners or ex partners he got away with it

5. Nope - Flanders would be with the Repubs all the way - just on the abortion, "morality" and gay marriage issue - but would also be LOVING the Faith Based Initiatives. He'd be one of those Repubs who actually believes all their moralistic crap (as opposed to those accustomed to the loud rattling from their closets) and falls for it.

6. Estelle & Frank Costanzo

Frank Doctor gave me a relaxation cassette. When my blood pressure gets too high, the man on the tape tells me to say, 'Serenity now!'
George Are you supposed to yell it?
Frank The man on the tape wasn't specific.

Frank Welcome, new comers. The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it! You, Kruger. My son tells me your company stinks!

7. Not so much disgusting but a demonstration how money/power/position are more reliable indicators of ones ability to get girls in the sack than looks or personality (and before I get flamed I am female)
