Stupid ESPN
They moved tonight's game to 5 pm so they can put on the stupid Esbys. This screws up my Sunday.

4. They're a bad neighbor too.
Loud, disruptive, skimp on their property taxes, clog-up traffic, first employer in town to complain about anything and the last one to ever deal with their own issues. Very community unfriendly. Do not support local businesses, the economy or happenings. It's like they think they exist in a bubble and the rest of the Bristol/Plainville/Southington region is there to wait on their beckon call.

5. How would they screw up traffic?
I believe you but it doesn't seem like they are that big of an operation.

6. It's a little two lane road
one in each direction across the top of a ridge so there is no alternate route available or side roads to divert traffic to. ESPN is the largest employer in town. It's more people than you think because each of the channels/outlets is run entirely separately from all the others (ESPNNews, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN.com) and requires a staff of approximately 100-250 people (50 for ESPN.com) to stay on the air. So 1,050 people, all of whom drive to work, three shifts a day. The cars bottleneck clear back to Route 6 about 2 miles away.

The simple solution is for the town to widen the road, right? Well, they can't because ESPN sued to get an injunction to prevent an immanent domain claim on the grounds that it would materially damage their business as the broadcast dishes are literally abutting the current curve. They could move the dishes to the 50 acres they own behind the building...but they won't.

7. My solution
If the town wants to widen the road the cost of relocation would be covered by the town.

I dislike ESPN but I watch about 10 hours a week. I'm an idiot sports fan. But dammit they are smug.
