You shone like the sun.

Actually most of the reportage on Syd's last years was that he was more or less okay as long as he was never reminded of Pink Floyd or the music industry. I suppose that meant that he could never sit down and talk to David and Roger and Rick and Nick, some of the weirder stories notwithstanding. (There was one story that he showed up at the recording sessions for WYWH carrying a Telecaster with rusty old strings, announcing that he was ready to do his bit. And apparently nobody recognized him.)

I hope he's in a better place now and can review his life and his art with equanimity.
