Poll question: Baseball fans: What's the plural of RBI?
Mike Greenberg was ranting about this on ESPN radio this morning. Says he's aware that it's "Runs Batted In" but that RBI has been around long enough to count as a word, not an abbreviation, so it should be RBIs.

I've always preferred RBI, without the 's.'

See, RBIs = rib-i's = ribeyes = steaks

9. RsBI is far too awkward. I believe the correct terminology is RBI.

10. Depends on how you're using it.
Edited on Fri Jul-07-06 10:30 AM by reyd reid reed
If you're writing it in a sentence, you either write it out: "Pujols hit for the cycle with six runs batted in during last night's game against the Brewers." or use the abbreviation in a sentence: "Pujols hit for the cycle with 6 RBIs during last night's game against the Reds." Or, if it's in a linescore: "Pujols 4-5, 2B, 3B, HR, 6 RBI."

So...pick your poison. There's a case to be made for all of 'em.
