What is wrong with my cat?
She has been putting her head under the lampshade and staring at the lightbulb, which is on, again. She's done this before, but I've really had to get her out from under there a lot tonight. No wonder she can't see. Do they have pet psychiatrists, because she really seems to need one.

4. Hmmm. I have suspected for a while
that she is getting them. She runs into things a lot, but I thought that the lightbulb staring might be the cause and not the symptom. I can see the sense in it being the other way around, though. Thanks for your imput.

2. Small flying critters are attracted to the light.
She is probably trying to catch it.. Mine go after flying things under the lampshades too. Turn the light off :)

3. She may be trying to keep warm.
I had a cat who would do this.

Singed her eyebrow whiskers off. She didn't care.

5. I had a cat named Sweetie once who used to get right up to candles
and stare down at them until his whiskers would curl and singe. Needless to say, I stopped burning candles. My poor silly kitty.

I don't know why she would do that, unless maybe she knows it gets your attention? :)

6. Oh no! She gets tons of attention, but she can't ever
seem to get enough! I'm glad to know that this behavior is somewhat common. Right now she is lying on my husband's chest and he is scratching her behind her ears. She is in her kitty tunnel of bliss.
