A mouse looked through the crack in the wall......
to see the farmer and his wife open a package.

"What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered -
he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning.

"There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap
in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and
said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a
mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.
Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said, "There is a
mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap-- alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house --
like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the
darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake
whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her
to the hospital and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup,
so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock.

To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

1. Great parable, so true
I wish we would do this, instead of some of us eating our young over this issue and that issue. We need one another to be strong more than we need to be right about the whole Rove matter or anything else. Am I upset if these scum walk, sure. There's a higher priority, and it's called making the vote count, stopping Diebold. I like Gore, but if he isn't running, no point in wasting time spitting into the wind. We need someone decent, and decent doesn't always mean perfect. We're human we never are going to all agree no matter how hard we try, but together, nothing is going to happen with this administration if we don't fix the vote. Period. We are hopeless if we don't do that. I wish WE had a Rove, sometimes to clean things up you need to get dirty yourself. Play to win. It isn't just us we are saving, as the mouse parable demonstrates. it's all of us. ALL people, ALL nations, ALL sexes and sex preferences, ALL religions, beliefs AND the right to NOT believe, EVERYONE is that mouse. And everyone ought to be that mouse. I'm sure the freepers mock us. Fine. I wouldn't want to be liked by most of them, anyway. They have a surprise coming, their emperor has no clothes, and he couldn't care less about patriotism, just their almighty buck.

That we're losers is such bullshit. Bush is DOWN in the polls. People don't like this war. There was a time when none of us or very few could ever imagine Bush in the position he is in now.

We're only losers if we decide we are. Why are we wasting time with Rove? Yeah, I'd like to see the sources, and I'd like to know, but I have better things to do, restore the vote, restore my country, restore values. I can't do much, many of you do amazing things, and I admire you all.
I know the Rove thing hurts, and I am not saying those who are angry are wrong. I'm just saying use that anger for bigger things.
Bullies fall, folks. They fall. Keep fighting. Let Fitz be Fitz. Be patient. Don't give up. We did make progress.

A mouse can bring down an elephant. Keep squeaking, we are the true patriots, we have extraordinary people on our side.

My little 3 cents from a mouse in training named Mr. Ladyship (ED).

You know, I had no idea that this was a serious story.....

I thought it was a joke, or something like that.....

I am so glad I stopped by to see for myself.....

This is an excellent parable, and it needs to be read by everyone!

8. We miss the beach so much
we are going camping soon at Doran Beach near Bodega Bay. It's pretty cool and foggy but hopefully the sun will shine during that time.
