More kittens . . . very cute. (dial up warning - maybe)
I shot these the day I thought the wind had brought me a solution to trapping -- it had slammed the enclosed porch door on this little family while they dined. But they were too wild and too terrified to keep in captivity. I will have to use humane traps when it's time for spay/neuter.

I actually shot these after I'd opened the porch door. I don't think the kittens realized it was open, and Ringtail, the mama, was protecting her babies.

1. Cute :) That second photo reminds me of Alinak when he was a young pup
- he always used to find cinder blocks to use as pillows (I know the kitten isn't doing that, it just reminds me)

2. Where did you get Alinak's name from?
Unusual name. I like it.

3. To be entirely honest, I made it up. I knew some people with names that

had the same type of sound (up in Alaska) and since he was a husky/malamute mix, I wanted a name that suggested 'the north'

I'm kind of weird with names. Got a kitten from a shelter, and I was clueless what to name her, so I called her Thursday because that was the day I picked her up.

4. I like made-up names. Not made up, but i once named a cat
"Chain Saw" because her purr could wake the dead. My roommate took umbrage and re-named her "Makita." :)

7. Good luck to you and the feline family
The mom cat looks awfully scared but the kittens look curious. The kittens look so adorable -- I know someone will fall in love with them and adopt them.

8. Those cuties are really cute.
They remind me of some of the wild things that visit our house in the woods.

9. Did you take these with a flash digital?
I'm rarely am able to get a shot of a cat looking directly at the lens with a flash digital without eye reflection and some squint. Part I think has to do with shutter lag inherent to most digitals. But the reflection there must be a way around.

Adorable picks! I love tabbys!

10. Yes. I think the reason I didn't get any red- or green-eye is that the sun
was also shining into their faces.

My camera has a setting that flashes a dim flash before the main flash/shutter opens. But in cats the only thing it does is make them squint earlier. Oh, well.
