Brazil, Argentina, and England look good. Germany are not that good in comparison but they might get lucky and they are the hosts.

2. Yeah, I didn't think France was really one of the faves the year they won,

when they were the host. Although that guy Zidane was brutal, heading in all those goals.

I don't know squat about futbol but I love the spectacle of World Cup.

4. Rooting for Brazil

mainly because the local Brazilian community goes apeshit over it, very entertaining.

Also because Ronaldinho is so cool. (To pronounce that like a Brazilian, the R should be a heavily aspirated H, and the nh is the equivalent of the Spanish n with a tilde, so it's HHHON-al-DEEN-yo.)

The year France won unexpectedly (as noted by Mayberry Macchiavelli) was because the Brazilian squad was overconfident (overrated?).
