1. A great music pioneer but had such a troubled life.
I saw him play this club in Miami in 1977. He was great.
Poor guy ended up hanging himself in a jail cell after getting picked up for a DUI.
Very sad.

2. A great loss in so many ways....
His first couple albums are so good, but then the handlers came in and ruined him. Some of his middle period stuff is just terrible. Turned me off so bad I didn't tune in for the latter stuff.
