I hate mold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Christ, it's making me freaking crazy.

The airborne molds here locally have been sky-high for weeks, and I look like I'm constantly stoned. Which I'm not.

Oh, and I have almost no skin left on my nose.

If you know of a fantastic treatment for bad mold allergies, would you be so kind as to post it???

1. Flonase helps
I was resistant to spraying something up my nose for years and years. Stupid really, because after I tried just about everything else (including shots) Flonase has helped most!

4. Tomorrow, I am Flonase-bound. I didn't know it was so good!
I'm willing to try anything at this point.

It's REALLY bad.

7. Then I am doctor-bound, as well. But if it's really that good, I'm
on it.

11. Or Nasacort
For some reason, because of my drug allergy profile, they will not give me Flonase. But Nasacort works well for me.

2. Maybe cause of all the rain in Texas last week...
affects me, too. W/allergies it's best to always use A/C,
there are allergy filters ($), and one tip was to be sure to
shower and wash your hair everynight to rid yourself of
pollens/molds, etc.

3. BioAllers Mold.
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 01:48 AM by haruka3_2000
You can get it at a decent health food store. It cost about $8 and they have a different formulation for different allergies (since I'm extra special, I use mold, grass, and tree at various points). It's a homeopathic remedy that both contains the allergen (to build an immunity) and stuff to help you feel better. It's dissolved in alcohol and you put a dropper-full under your tongue. It works way better than Claritin.

Another bonus is, you take it one or two times a day for base protection, but if you're having an attack, you can take it every 15 minutes. Since it's homeopathic, you can't overdose. I've been using the BioAllers stuff for three years and it's awesome.

Oh yeah, if you don't have any health food stores nearby, you should be able to find it online without a problem.

Edited to fix the last sentence.

6. Thanks. I do prefer homeopathic treatments when possible.
They often seem to really work well.

10. You're welcome.
Yeah, I'm pretty skeptical of a lot of OTC meds. For recreation, pharmaceuticals are great. As for most minor illnesses and allergies, I find the all-natural route much better. Instead of masking the symptoms, it will help the cause. For example, if I have a cold, I believe in sweating out the fever and taking stuff to boost my immune system. This seems to work very well, since on the rare occasion I get a cold, this seems to bust it out of my system totally within 48 hours. Those around me don't seem to fair that well.

12. is it just random airborn
mold spores, or could you possibly have a household mold infestation? if so, beware the black stachybotrys which can be very harmful.

I used to live in an appartment complex which was built in the winter (the wet, washington winter) and never dried. We has a sever mold problem and before we moved I was sneezing so much my nose would bleed.

we got cash when we moved.
