1. sorry, this is the first thing that popped into my head...
Phone Ringing)
"Hello?"
"Yes, a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mr. Floyd.
Will you accept the charges from the United States"
(Phone is Hung Up)
"He hung up. Is this your residence, sir?"
"I wonder why he hung up..."
"There must be someone else there
besides your wife to answer."
(Phone Ringing)
"Hello?"
"This is the United States calling."
"Are we reaching?"
(Phone is Hung Up)
"See he keeps hanging up."
"But it's a man answering."
(Operator cuts connection)

alot of battered women's shelters are in regular houses in neighborhoods and they are told about through word of mouth, maybe someone just got the number wrong.

2. worse, I get people calling
the people who used to have my number. My business phone was that way after the phone company refused to give me the number I requested. And then the directory still had it as that person's number so I had to call the directory up and tell them to change it.

6. you know what's worse?
Is that it's a couple of NSA people outside of your house in a van, and they are just laughing it up. "Let's call him again! (tee hee hee) He's still not done with his ice cream."

3. I get quite a few wrong numbers.
because of people trying to reach people who used to have my current number. Though now that I have had this number for some time now, that has become less of a problem. But what I realy hate are the ones who want to argue with me about it when I tell them they've got the wrong number. It's really annoying.

4. I just don't answer my phone usually
Let the machine take it...

Had some interesting ones.... the guy who called asking his wife to come bail him out of jail was a classic

Some people can get nasty though. They can't admit they made a mistake, so it has to be all your fault. Idiots. I misdial my ex's number every so often and always end up with the same woman (their number is one digit different) and I always apologize for disturbing her. And she always says "Don't worry about it, everybody makes mistakes." And we laugh and it's actually pleasant. Politeness never killed anyone.

Khash.

8. OMG
On friday night I got a call and it was some teenage girl who called me "Ryan" and immediately broke into a spiel about how it was really rough the way she (some other girl) broke up with me and-

So I interjected with, I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong number.

"No, you have every right to be angry..."

"No, I really think you have wrong number!"

She didn't listen. I put the phone down.

And just not pick it up......

I have this feature, and I have done this......
