Good Wednesday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Hump Day edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :woohoo: I hope you had a great day yesterday! It was craziness at my store and we were slammed all day long. Why people were in a buying mood on a Tuesday, I have NO idea...but we had our days sales goal met at Noon, doubled at 3PM and tripled at 5, when I left! :bounce: Holey moley...what a day! And I'm off again today! :woohoo: So getting through this weeks hump day is going to be easy for ME. :bounce:

I received no call and no e-mails from anyone at Roxio yesterday. x( Why do companies have to do that to its customers? Whenever I tell someone I'll call them back with information, I call them back! Sometimes it won't be within 5 minutes (customers in the store need help once in a while), but I always call as soon as I can. So I STILL don't have a resolution to my E.M.C.8 problem.

Hopefully, today will be an easy day for ALL of us! Are you ready to get going this morning? Time to rise and shine! :bounce:

Don't worry, the song in question is very forgettable you see. It is the fourth movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

97. As it has to do with me moving to London
it is a big step and needs some consideration. I talked to M. Sunday for quite a while on YM and phone. It is not that I don't want to come, but it might be easier to first move there and then look for a job then the other way around. And that I am scared to do. Even though he offered to provide for me till I find the right job. I need to talk to my mom also and I need to figure out how and when I want to do it.

115. Well, moving to a different country to be closer to someone...
is a huge step in a relationship. I guess one of the things you have to decide is do you want to spend the rest of your life with him and would you enjoy living in London? What would happen if you two broke up? Sorry to add questions to your already confused mind. :loveya:

130. Oh you are not adding up
that stuff is already in my mind. I would love to live in London. It was always my dream to live in another country, so that isn't the problem. And if I have a job in London and the relationship with M. would end (which I don't hope) I could support myself.
But I am also afraid of how my family would react to those plans. My mom isn't against me moving to London but she would want me to have a job first.
I know in the end it is my decision. I am just scared shitless at the moment. And to be together with M. I need to overcome this. M. doesn't has the time at the moment to come to Germany or for me to come to him. College and other obligations. And he starts his new job soon so there will be even less time. So for us to build on our relationship it would be better if I were in London.

Darn!! Darn!!! Double Darn!!!!!

I already talked to my mom and at the bottom line she isn't against me moving to London. She just wants me to figure out how it is with my German retirement money then and stuff. And I know she would me rather go to London because of a job and not because of a man.
But then again I am 31 and should make my own decisions, right?

you should make your own decisions, but it's nice to talk to someone who truly cares and has only your welfare at heart.

I don't really know what I would do in your situation. Maybe take any job to begin with so I've got some income. That way I could keep my financial Independence. Just a thought.

163. That is what I am thinking about also
Maybe find a job in a bookstore and then look for a position in a library. But that also would mean I need to cancel my job here in Germany 3 months in advance as I require 3 months notice. I am sure there are enough jobs in London and M. helps me to put up a good application and CV. And he doesn't want me to take a job that I am unhappy with. And he said he would support me till I find the right position.

My main problem actually is at the moment my 3 months notice and in the U.K. they look for people who can start working right away or the most one month notice.

173. Wow! Three months
notice. That's a long time. Here it's customary to give two weeks, and I've heard of some people just leaving with no notice, which I think is just wrong.

I guess if you're serious about moving, you'll just have to give notice at work, and keep your eyes and ears open for a new position in the UK. I would hope with your library experience you'd be able to procure another library job, but a book store would be a nice transition job.

Will send you my guardian angel for guidance or at the very least comfort!

Gotta hit the road and head for work. Sometimes the hardest thing about a situation like this is to take the first step. After that, all falls into place.

And as I love my position here and I get along so well with my boss and co-workers it is just fair to give them that period of time. What I am thinking about at the moment is to quit to the end of the year and then start over in London begin of 2007 with M. I know he supports me in my decisions and that is another reason why I think he is the right man for me. He ain't pressuring me even though I know he wants me over with him rather sooner than later. You are right, the first step is the hardest thing.

You have a save trip to work and we talk tomorrow again. Have a wonderful day

Sounds like a good few days lined up.

In English the usual term for tomorrow is Ascension Day.

I was too lazy to look it up. And Christi Himmelfahrt somehow sounds better than Ascension Day :)

Well I do have to work Friday. At least I should work. Should I take half a day off or the whole day?

If you've got the spare holiday time, I'd take the day off. A four-day week-end feels so much longer, and you can get it fairly easily.

At least that's what I'd do.

51. Good morning Clint!
I had fun yesterday all right. First I screwed up my back by moving all of my bedroom furniture from the center of the room to where it needed to be (my bed is amazingly heavy for a twin size). Then after all that I took my friends up on their offer to go out for dinner. Silly me didn't think to check to make sure the cap on the ketchup was on tight before I shook it so next thing you know the cap went flying and ketchup splattered all over the place. My sweatshirt was covered in it as was the table, and there was a long stream of it on the floor. It missed the guy across the way (who was in business attire) and his file of paperwork by barely an inch. :scared: I was so embarassed I wanted to crawl under the table.

I may never be invited out again.

65. It was pretty comical in a humiliating sort of way
What's even funnier is one of my friends had gone to the restroom, and if she'd come back at just the wrong time she would have gotten splattered while passing by the table.

And why did I move all the furniture by myself? A. I'm stupid B. My roomie is in worse condition than I am (she had a car accident years ago) so she shouldn't be moving anything either.

I'll just take some muscle relaxants and Ibuprofen and I'll be ok in a day or so.

132. Good morning, Clintmax!
:donut: :hi:

Wow, you did have a busy day yesterday! :woohoo:

Roxio didn't call back? Can't say I'm surprised. Dell was going to call me back in an hour ... almost 2 weeks ago. Still waiting. Customer service is a thing of the past with most of these companies. I wish you could get some help with that.

Harleydad managed to get up and go to work today in spite of coughing all night long. He says he feels better, but he can't stop coughing from the post nasal drip. Even the cough syrup didn't help. :(

We're still not done packing and I'm so tired I can barely move. I HAVE to finish this week so I can rest up for the trip. Every time I think I'm almost done, there seems to be more than I expected.

Anyway, I'm as ready as I'll ever be to get the day started. It's good to see you.

I think this is THE major decision in my life.

And no, it wasn't fun to pinch or pull a muscle. It happend before that I slept wrong and my back hurt but not for two days straight. I am getting old

the bed is fantastic. I might blame it on the cold wind that sneaked in through my open window

For myself I know I want to get out of Germany. I always felt more myself in other countries than Germany. But how do I explain that to my family? OK, they know about it but think that I gave up on it. And beside my mom and my aunt nobody knows of Marcus - yet.

Especially if you were twisting around, trying to get warmed up.

I guess your family has to start seeing you as an adult. Believe me, that's hard to do! My kids are still my babies, but they have to do what makes them happy, even if it's not something that makes me happy. I wouldn't even try to explain it to them -- just tell them you want to live in London for a while. That way, it doesn't make it sound like you're dissing Germany.

:hi::hug:
I'm sorry you still have so much stuff to pack. It WILL end one of these days, I promise! :loveya::hug: That's just like a guy to go to work feeling like that. I've done it too even though I should have stayed home another day.

I wish all places gave customer service like we do at MY store! Nobody get ignored and we help as much as the customer needs us. Some people come in and say; "Leave me alone" and others want us to take them by the hand and lead them around the store and show them everything.

It's good to see you too, my dear!:loveya: Hopefully the morning crew can be the light part of your day and it won't be so difficult. :loveya:

161. Well, he's been home since Friday.
And he does feel better ... if he could only get some sleep. At least he's not in danger of infecting anyone else. I used to HATE when all those "brave" guys came to work sick, collected their perfect attendance awards, and got me so sick I was down for weeks at a time. x(

I would LOVE to visit your store while you're working! Too bad it's not on our way to TN ... although I'm sure we could plan a route to make it so. :D

How's that naughty kitty doing? Any progress? He's on my mind, poor thing. :loveya:

This is my favorite part of the day. And I'm down to counting the days until I won't be able to talk to you for a few days. We were going to get our cable equipment sent to the new place, but there was a hang-up with that so now we have to wait until June 5 for them to bring it out. We'll be unhooking the equipment here on June 1 or 2. So, unless we can hook into someone's wireless network, I'll be out of touch. You'll have to give me a big hug when I get back. *sniff*

177. I rarely EVER get sick...
but our GM tell us to stay home (or GO home if we go to work) so we don't infect everybody there. Bandit's STILL using the floor. I don't know what to do with him. I'm going today to try to find Cat Attract litter, so hopefully that will help solve that problem. x( Not having you here, even for a few days, is going to rough on ALL of us...so you will get LOTS AND LOTS of hugs before you have to go! Count on that!:hug::hug:

188. Harleydad doesn't get sick either.
This is very unusual. But in his environment, the same environment I used to work in, they consider it a sign of weakness if you have to stay home because you're sick. The whole contagious thing is overrated, in their minds. I'm glad your GM is smarter than that.

They have the litter at Petsmart and it's in a red bag. The regular Dr. Elsey's is in a blue bag. When a vet friend of mine suggested that the litter was Sabrina's problem, I wondered what she was smoking. But it solved it immediately. That's why I keep pushing it. Only we just used the regular Dr. Elsey's (blue bag) and it worked fine. Of course, we also changed her food so she doesn't have a tummy ache anymore (she had diarrhea ... imagine cleaning that up every day!).

OK *sniff* we'll have a big hug-fest before I go. :loveya: Honestly, I think I'm already going through withdrawal from not being able to hang around lately.

228. Morning Clint!
I just woke up. Doing some early morning dishes. My brother would let them stack up until they engulfed the whole apartment, so I figure it's best to step in rather than let that happen. :)

Been lying in bed, thinking about a few things to write etc. I got a funny story about a homeless neighbor who spent the night with me a few years ago. He got kicked out of his apartment and needed a place to stay. It was freezing out so I didn't have the heart to say no. Oh lord, it was wild. :) He's an abrasive uncouth guy, man, it was a rough night dealing with him, haha. If you ever have watched Aqua Teen Hungerforce, he's just like the character Carl. I'll attach a pic of Carl at the end of this. But the story is funny, so I've been thinking about writing it for my blog etc.

Other than that I am reading a David Sedaris book. I'm hoping to make some significant headway on it this morning, depends on if I write or not, I suppose. He's a very interesting writer. If you haven't read his stuff, you should check him out. The one I'm reading is "Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim." Personal essays, lots of fun too.
