How can I get to December 31, 1969?
Some of my DU friends have been posting to their journals from there and there are a couple things I'd like to do differently this time.

1. Buy an iBook G4.
Let the clock battery die.
Plug the computer in.
Restart the computer.
Check the clock.
Voila! You're at the end of 1969!

2. Thanks, man!
Starting with hitchhiking to Virginia Beach to see the total solar eclipse, things are gonna be really different this time.

I'll see you in 37 years or so!

14. I'm back! I invested in Coca-cola right after the New Coke business.
Can I buy you a jet ski or something?

5. Ah, yes. December 31st 1969.
I remember it well. It's almost as if the '60s ended that day. :P

7. I've been there...
Gotta admit it was a pretty cool year.

We lived in Maryland.

One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

Solar eclipse.

Learned that cat nip can do very funny things to a cat.

Learned that I didn't especially care for violin lessons.

Learned that I really liked pogo sticks.

Learned that my mother really DIDN'T like pogo sticks...especially in the basement.

And...on Dec. 31, 1969, it occurred to me, like a bolt out of the blue...that it would never been 1969 again. Never be nineteen-sixty-ANYTHING again. The whole decade was gone and there wasn't anything that would bring it back.

9. Sitting in the basement rec room with my GF and her Sister and BF
in their mansion in Providence,R.I. as we watched the the "big ball" go down on New Year's Eve as the 1960's ended..as the 60's ended I said, "Maybe, NEXT year,we'll be at Peace!".

By 1 a.m. we were in their respective bedrooms having hot sex I do believe!

8. I lived in Alexandria, Your State then,
but on December 31 was on a car trip, in a white 1965 Chevy biscayne, with my family to Montana, Missouri, and back again.

I can understand the need to go back.

15. We drove to Colorado in a white Ford Ranch Wagon, summer of '69
It was while we were on that trip the car radio announced Judy Garland had died.

16. I was there. It was no big deal.

Well it's 1969 okay
All across the USA
It's another year
For me and you
Another year
With nothing to do

Last year I was 21
I didn't have a lot of fun
And now I'm gonna be 22
I say oh my and a boo hoo
And now I'm gonna be 22
I say oh my and a boo hoo

It's 1969 okay
All across the USA
It's another year
For me and you
Another year
With nothing to do
Another year
With nothing to do
It's 1969

Of course, I was only 4 months old at the time

18. concentrate on a 1969 penny for hours if not days and
you will be magically transported back.

Or so I saw in a movie once.
