Poll question: Which network nightly news do you watch?
No cable or "I don't watch network news" snobs here - for me, it's a good barometer of where the major media's head is at (even when it's up its ass).

For me, it's CBS - sure, it's a little dry, but it's easily the best of the three for more "hard news".

I get my news from NPR, PBS, the BBC, and LBN! (Also a variety of papers, most often NYT or Washington Post.) I almost never watch network news. That's why I'm not confused about the issues.

EDIT: Sorry, I shouldn't have posted any of that, per your request.

3. I don't read posts before responding either.....
and when I watch network news it's usually the two Korean stations that we have here in LA. My wife (who is of Korean persuasion) watches both sort of simultaneously. On one tv. Anyway, I've seen the most amazing things on the Korean news. We had special forces people on the ground in the middle of Afghanistan long before it was officially announced. Korean news guys were standing there in the boonies of Afghanistan with a line of american soldiers marching past behind them. "Here're the american special forces in Afghanistan, right here in the country," and the guys are marching by, with an occassional glance, a wave or two (Hi Mom!). I guess whoever controls things figures Korean language news isn't anything to worry about.

4. Woops! You're right.
I skimmed it and skipped to the poll, and thought the lack of "other" was an oversight, then answered without reading more carefully to check. Sorry about that.

5. That's OK
I considered adding Jim Lehrer & PBS to the poll, but they clearly don't fit the corporate media/squeezed-into-a-half-hour question.

6. I start with CBS then

after hearing what they are covering first I "hop" over to ABC to see what they will be covering, then I sometimes choose between the two of them. I don't even bother with NBC.

I feel watching the network news is important if you want to understand the way the majority of Americans are thinking, because that is what they are watching if they bother with news.

8. typically ABC, but I flip back and forth with CBS...
ABC usually starts a bit early so I catch the headlines, flip to hear Rather's and then decide.

And yeah, I mainly get news from internet & NPR...I don't get cable news channels any longer...

9. ABC has shown the least bias.
Yes Peter & Dan were both in Dallas when Kennedy was killed but Dan is too Bush/Texas/CIA to be trusted about anything.
