Man, it is quiet around here!
My husband is in California, will be interviewing for jobs, and will not be back until Thursday!

I miss him a lot.

29. Can we not talk baseball?
Dodgers took a 5-2 lead into the ninth against the Giants, and Baez — the fuckin' closer — horked up four runs. :grr:

32. Um, I know about blown saves!
Our closer, "Everyday" Eddie Guardado, blew 3 out of 4 saves. He's coming back, but man!

36. I love "Everyday Eddie"
but my heart does not miss the cardio workout received by watching him save games!

I know he was unhappy in Seattle for awhile, has he gotten happier there?

But I love it when he gets the save -- his emotions are so out there!

My son has an autographed baseball (that I stood in line for). He was very personable when he was signing things. Not everyone is.

19. I love doing that. It feels good to pass on the stuff I can't use anymore.

I've been talking about getting rid of all the clothes I wore when I was working for someone else. It's just in my way but it's too good to toss in the trash.

22. I would rather give it away than do a yard sale.

We have several options here. There are small places like The Well and Family in addition to Salvation Army. We also have several consignment shops that will pass on unsold goods to the women's shelter.

I was really surprised when a Good Will Industry moved into town recently.

28. I'll keep that in mind on my next trip out with things.

The only time I donate to the Salvation Army is when the smaller places are full. I must add that I've found a few great tweed and herringbone jackets at Sally's. :)

Family recycles without charge but The Well seems to serve a larger population of people who truly need help so I usually drop off there first. I've been in a mood to clear out everything that I really don't need becauseI'm going to be away from home for most of the next 4 months and I do have a tendency to collect stuff along the way.

It's hot, hot, hot over there! I was in a fun little conversation about whether Luskin is an ordinary private citizen or a hired mercenary scumbag and the thread got locked before I got to reply. (okay, before I got to reply for the fifth time).

It was actually fun.

Sorry about your husband being away. Where in California is he job hunting?

26. Oh great Goddess!!!
I don't know whether to hope he gets the job or that you are both spared.

In the event that he does get the job, you do understand that you will need suburban rethug camo clothes, right? Just imagine the dress of the Stepford Wives in the first movie.

So, should I be hoping for the job or hoping against it?

Orange County is the Scariest Place on Earth (right next to the Happiest Place on Earth. How weird is that?!)

I live in Travis County (Austin), TX and we have often joked that the two counties were moved by extraterrestrials, liberal Travis to Red Texas and conservative Orange County to Blue California.
