Predictions on the Fed decision and bias statement. (TBA 2:15 EDT)
I predict that the Fed will raise rates 25 basis points and will change the bias statement to read:

"We prefer Ranger Cookies to Chocolate Chip. By Ranger Cookies, we mean the cookies that are made with butter, coconut, chopped pecans, white sugar, brown sugar, and a secret ingredient, which is corn flakes."

7. No mention of corn flakes. No wonder the bond market is diving.
``The Committee judges that some further policy firming may yet be needed to address inflation risks but emphasizes that the extent and timing of any such firming will depend importantly on the evolution of the economic outlook as implied by incoming information.''

I fucked it up yet again. Dang me, dang me. They oughtta take a rope and hang me.

11. No.That was other data stuff
that's sort of tied to this data stuff in an oblique but equally uninteresting way. And it's all unrelated to the big data mess I was trying and failing to deal with when I should have been marching with you guys.

Anyway, there was firming today, I just got the statement way wrong. And as I said, I am deeply ashamed.

12. so it's uninteresting and yet you feel ashamed?
that's not good. i should be ashamed that this is all flying over my head. Instead i'm detached and bemused and gratified there was firming.
i don't know what it means, but i'm taking it as a sign of spring.
:hi:
