I need cheering up. I just read my hometown Obit. page...

In the past year we have lost...

one uncle (who creeped me out, but jeez! somebody could have let me know!)

My Elementary Music teacher (who hated rock and roll, but let us play it on Fridays anyway)

and Derek, (who was 4 years older than me, but I had a HUGE crush on)

and various other residents whose children (or grandchildren) I grew up with.

Scrolling down the list... memories blurring into tears... I hated growing up in that little farm town, but at this moment... I'm feeling homesick and sad...

7. Hello, sweetie. I have to tell you -- I do that once in a while with our

hometown paper.

It's tough.

My husband got the names all of his DECEASED college friends (BSEE, Northeastern University, 1957 -- Boston, Mass.) in one flyer that came to the house unannounced. He was depressed for days.
