I can't stand it any longer. If I have to struggle through another poorly organized, poorly developed case analysis I will f@cking scream. Just follow the damned instructions folks, that's all I ask. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH.

Good thing the students have already filled out course evaluation forms 'cause they ain't going to like their scores on this assignment.

2. They end when you retire! Just ask my wife.
As an aside, howdy, almost neighbor. I'm near Louisville.

So, concerning your nic, were you an artilleryman or do you own one of those awful creatures known as a cat?

7. They're wonderful animals
...for target practice or ballast (they balance out the bricks nicely as the sack sinks to the bottom of the creek).

NO FlAMING! Just a joke!

3. I know how you feel Redleg
I have a good 100 essays in front of me, and most of them range from merely dull to mind numbingly bad. In one religious themed essay, the writer disusses "our savory Jesus." Damn, I almost choked laughing.

That's who he'll be for me from now on, Our Savory Jesus. I'm going to hell for sure.

5. Ouch! That's a lot of reading. Mine are all team assignments
so I have 10 to finish for tomorrow and then another 20 I am collecting tomorrow that need to be graded by next week.

8. I am a college professor and I shouldn't have to spend a lot of time
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 06:15 PM by Redleg
trying to make sense out of these papers. The papers that are done well take much less time to grade than those on the other end of the spectrum. The good papers are enjoyable and interesting to read. The "bad" papers cause frustration and hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth!

You shouldn't be scared to be in my class- my expectations are reasonable- I just ask that students follow the instructions for the assignment- if they do so they should at a minimum score a 70%.

9. My daughter, in her first year of college
is taking English Comp II. She just declared yesterday that her prof lowered the maximum number of pages for their paper due this week - from 7 to 5. She just thought that her teacher was being kind... I know better...

The teacher mumbles to herself, "let's see, that's how many kids in the class, times two fewer pages that I have to grade for each one... I've got Christmas shopping that I need to do... sounds good to me!"

My dad was a professor at UW-Madison, well, a YOUNG professor when I was a baby. He brought home a stack of final exams to grade at home, and found a few hours later that I had chewed them up!!! I guess I didn't have enough fiber in my diet! :)

11. Yes, I can relate to that- I recently dropped one assignment.
The students thought I was being reasonable but I did it for me, not for them!
