Anybody here used to know the Everly Brothers personally?

I've been listening to them a lot lately and just wondered.

1. I think my dad did

He was in the military with some famous singing duo in the 1960s, and I think it was them.

2. Did he ever say anything about them?

I bet it was them. They enlisted in the Marines in 1963. (Wikipedia).

4. It's been a long time

Because I used to hear these stories when he'd be driving me to summer band practice, almost 20 years ago. But I remember him saying that they were fairly normal guys, and that there wasn't the media attention that you saw when stars like Elvis enlisted.

3. Talked with them in Manilla in 1960

They came to Quezon City for a performance. This is outside of Manilla, in the Phillipines.
