I got preached at by puppets this weekend

Seriously, it happened. It's our family tradition to go out somewhere and do something on the Easter holiday because it's less crowded. However, because the weather channel was (at the time) predicting storms for Sunday, we decided to go to the Columbus zoo on Saturday.

Oh boy... turns out they were having some special Easter-egg hunt thingy, which meant that the zoo was packed. At most of the major exhibits, there was a sponsor table who was handing out candy and stuff. Just about all of them were businesses of some sort. However, at the Coral Reef exhibit, there was a church sponsored table.

That alone wouldn't have bothered me in the slightest. However, right next to them they had a puppet show running with Sesame Street-ish puppets singing songs about Jesus. And it's not like it was quiet, I could hear it far away, even with the crowd noises. Now, was that really necessary? I know a lot of non-Christian people go on family outings on or around Easter because so many places close up. I don't think there's a need to preach to other people's kids in a zoo.

1. Don't you hate it when that happens?
The puppets are always so disturbing to look at, too. They're kind of satanic or something. :P

It's as bad as Davey and Goliath preaching at you from claymation cartoons, too.

2. Actually, they just looked like something out of Sesame Street
which, imo, is worse. They're using puppets similar to ones little kids are used to seeing and trusting to preach their religion.

3. Geez, that IS worse!
I mean, which puppets can a kid trust any more? Sesame Street is supposed to be secular. That's just indoctrination for poor unsuspecting kids (and parents, and bystanders, etc.).

One puppet show I saw when I was a kid was entertaining at first, then it turned into a religious puppetfest. The puppets were kind of demented looking, and it lost my interest almost immediately. Hey, puppets are supposed to be fun, not preachy! :P
