Parents: What are games you like and dislike playing with your kids?
Me, I like board games, puzzles, drawing, and I'll play catch or shoot hoops as well. But I HATE playing dolls -- and I did even when I was a wee lass. Today I confessed to my six-year-old: "I don't really know how to play Polly Pocket, honey." She said: "It's easy, Mama -- You just pretend things." But the pretending is what makes me want to drop off immediately and go to sleep. I'm glad she has a good imagination, but the effort of creating dialog and scenarios is just sooooo snooze-inducing to me. :boring:

2. I'm not a parent, but I am a writer,
yet I can't create good dialog and scenarios that don't hold the promise of a couple of swordfights or a space battle before the end of it! :D

3. Any game that involves hitting me with something
My kid's really strong, so getting whacked with a toy lightsaber really freakin' hurts.

7. I have three boys with lightsabers.
I swear they end up having them for only about an hour every couple of months because otherwise someone gets hurt. Usually the little 4 year old whacks one of his big brothers.

I should just throw the dumb things out. :banghead:

5. I hate Star Wars Monopoly. I got stuck playing for about three freaking
hours last time, unti I finally cheated my way into a loss so I could end the tediousness. I like playing Yahtzee with my oldest. Last time we played I totally kicked his ass!

6. I like pretty much all my son's games at this point
Heck I got him playing RISK already :)

But there's one or two board games he has where you sometimes have to act out something for the others to guess. I never liked doing that.

8. I enjoyed playing chess with my 3 year old.
One of the white rooks had to go shopping and the knights all gathered around to have circle time.
