Just spent 6 hours editing a novel. Ask me anything.
My eyeballs are about to melt outta my head. Spent 6 hours tonight editing one of my best friend's novels and I'm only through about 200 pages. Woohoo - only 425 more pages to go.

I double dog dare someone to ask me what kind of novel it is.

3. Nope...he has too much hair
The main characters in the novel are all in the military - no long flowing manes. :-)

Sorry, but no. I'm not the marrying kind. But don't let that stop you from throwing yourself at my feet or anything. ;-)

15. Ther wer sum misplelinses
But not a lot. The only one that drives me nuts is that her co-author constantly misspells y'all. She spells it ya'll, which drives me absolutely batshit.

And yeah, it's kinda long but it isn't all porn. There's some actual plot in amongst all the sex. Go figure.

31. Had a blast! Yes, I met someone interesting, but not like you think.
I met the guitarist/banjo player for The Damnations. He's an old friend of another DUer, so I walked up and said hi.

14. Double spaced or single spaced?
Is it really porn, or more homo-erotic?

16. Good question...
my brain is still so blurry that I don't rightly remember. Single spaced I think.

And it's kinda both - homo-erotic and porn. The "answer" would totally depend on how a person defined those terms. I tend toward saying it's porn becuase there's some very straight ahead just plain fuckin in it. But like I said in another post - it has a plot too and some of the sex isn't written "porn"-y. Sorry, that wasn't a very coherent answer. :-)

And if it's single-spaced, then it is one monster huge book!

22. It sure feels "monster huge"
I have several more hours of editing to do today and probably tomorrow too. I'm thinking my best friend owes me after this one. I'm thinking maybe make her cook my favoritest thing or take me out for ice cream or something. :-)

the truly memorable if everybody was!

18. I can relate!

For longer than I care to remember, I've been revising (and revising and revising!) my novel, DEADWAX, a murder mystery set in the world of record collecting. Every time I think I'm ready to start marketing the damned thing, I find other areas of it that I think need work. Christ, what a pain in the ass!

with your novel.

Have you submitted it anywhere yet? At some point you have to let go of the editorial process and put that puppy out there. :-)

With a 625-page novel, I doubt anyone would notice if you included a dashing young hero from Long Island. :D

26. I'm sure there are lost of "chicks"--novels like these always throw in a
farm scene or something. Nothing like a hayloft for clandestine sex!
