Kid. Rock.
Seriously.

This guy gets invited to awards shows. He sells millions of albums. Sells out arenas. He gets to induct Lynyrd Skynyrd into the HOF.

Someone PLEASE explain this guy's success to me because I JUST don't get it.

He's a horrible rapper. Cookie Puss-era Beastie Boys had 100 times the skill of this schmuck. It just equates to hoarse syncopated shouting with no style.

I can eeny-meeny-miney-moe any random buzzed guy in any country-night karaoke bar in Ohio who has as much vocal talent as Bobby possesses.

There's almost zero variation or subtlety with his songwriting. Nu-Metal couldn't be this ham-fisted if Limp Bizkit covered Vanilla Ice.

There's no originality either - every musical style he fishes from has not only already been done and put through the ringer to the point of nausea, but even the ones who have ridden the bandwagon for miles are doing said style better than he is.

UT UT UT! There IS such a thing as "everything is subjective" but I mean COME ON!! I thought we were over this whole "making it strictly on hype and nothing else" thing already. Doesn't there have to be SOME semblance of talent and originality? Just a smidgen, at least?

I refuse to believe the American music-listening public is THIS painfully inept to lift this guy to the undeserved loftiness he holds, so someone PLEASE offer me an explanation of his appeal. PLEASE.

1. He looks like he belongs with Britney Spears.
Maybe he can have a celebrity deathmatch with K-Fed.

2. You know...he really is a nice guy in person.
Like Eminem...he is a persona when he's out there. He sang with Hank Jr. (they're friends) here at a concert a couple of years back, and it was probably one of the most enjoyable moments I've ever had at a concert. :hi:
