I don't want my tampon applicators to be "comfy."
I just saw a commercial comparing two major brands of tampons, and one was deemed superior because the applicator had a "comfy tip."

I'm not a huge fan of the word "comfy" in any case -- it's just too cutesy -- but it's much worse when it's describing a piece of cardboard.

:scared:

2. "Itsy-bitsy" = only if it's the spider.
"Yum-bo"...? "Yum-O" is a Rachel Ray-ism that makes me cringe.

I don't want a "spendy" tampon either.

4. Yeah, and if it was uncomfortable, you might be able to train your body to
not need them in the first place.

Seems like a good idea to me

I don't think too many woman would want to buy a tampon if they labled it "uncomfy" tip

10. Yes...but why "comfy?"
Why not "comfortable?" You know, like you're addressing an adult about a hygiene function instead of a child about a puppy?

(Then again -- I don't exactly know what would constitute comfortable vs. uncomfortable. The rounded tip vs. blunt doesn't make that much of a difference. Unless it was coated with razor blades or something...)

12. "Comfy" makes better ad copy than "raspy" or "pointed."
As in, "Jam our patented rough-edged cardboard tube up your hoo-hoo" just ain't gonna sell the product.

14. comfy=fun? "Oh i wanna use that tampon, it's comfy and fun!"
i just want one that works, honestly they don't even need to advertise tampons, we all use them, we know how they work. What about the ads for them and they show the woman playing volleyball or doing yoga while their wearing those "comfy" tampons? Please, volleyball and yoga is about the last thing i want to do when i have cramps no matter how frigging comfy that tampon is.

37. Bravo!
Well said. I couldn't have said it better. I get so irate when they show women doing all those things during their period. Yeah, right, I'm sure I'll be volunteering to do the lawn, then go work out, then do yoga, and then go play freaking volleyball with cramps, a killer headache, backache, and bloating. What pisses me off more is when they advertise Midol as if it really works. I am sure the inventor of that useless placebo is still snickering to this day. Sorry, Midol is the biggest joke, evah. Give me freaking morphine. My mother used to be able to go to the hospital when she had her period and get a drip for it. It hurt her so bad, they had to dope her up the first two days. Too bad they don't offer that today. I'd save as much of my miserable little money up as I possibly could. Anything to stop the pain of the whole ordeal.

23. Actually there is a difference, in my most humble opinion.
There are those that practically scratch you and then there are those that are pain free. Some brands definitely have a more comfortable applicator.

15. Regular, old boring Tampax.
Seriously -- I don't notice the difference, really, between plastic and cardboard (since I'm dealing with the applicator for five seconds).

All things being equal, or nearly so, I'd rather deal with biodegradable cardboard vs. plastic.

18. I would love to see an ad for the DIVA Cup
In 1998, 7 billion tampons and 13 billion sanitary pads and their packaging made their way into landfills and sewage systems in the USA alone.
http://www.divacup.com/

Is that something you want to contribute to?

diva cup > no applicator (OB tampons) > cardboard > nonbiodegradable plastic

just a waste of paper (or worse, plastic) as far as I'm concerned. What on earth do you need an applicator for? I've been using OB tampons for about 20 years.
