:hi: I'm running late today and of course it's the day of the week that I have to be in early for loan committee. :boring:
Man it it really windy here today. The weather here has been so crazy...one day almost 60 and the next in the 20's.
Hope everyone has a great day! Gotta run...

29. No, don't mind....
...I buy homes and rehab them, and then sell them. Anyway, I had a contract with a guy who asked me to make $1,700 in additional repairs. In good faith, I did. After 2 months, he backs out 2 days before closing. So I was $1700 out-of-pocket. Anywho, he has now turned around to sue me for not returning his earnest money. Some people have balls the size of Texas. Oh, well, that's what courts are for.

3. Good morning Clintmax! How's the back today?
Funny you should mention Rick Springfield. I've been watching General Hospital for the past couple months because they have brought back a lot of the "old" cast members, Rick being one of them.

I hope you enjoy your long weekend!

:hi::hug:
My back is all better, thank you! I haven't had any more trouble with it, and plus I'm taking it easy with it for at least another couple of days, just to be sure. Rick Springfield had a slew of hits in the early eighties and I love his music. Back then he was in his 20's, I think...I can't imagine how he looks now.

How's everything in YOUR neck of the woods?

10. Rick Springfield lived on my wall next to Elvis Costello for about 4 years
in the early 80's. I adored him as Dr. Noah Drake. He actually still looks pretty good.

I still have my "Working Class Dog" album.

My brother got to meet him (he waited on him in a restaurant about 10 years ago), and he was stunned to be recognized, gracious and wonderful. He's getting pretty popular again. :hi:

This little business of mine started as doing a favor for a friend. She wanted this fabulous, artistic, gay boy (that's me!) to do her small wedding on a $3000 budget and I did a spectacular job. Some of the guests got my info and from there most of my business has been word-of-mouth.

The "cheapest" wedding I have on my calander this year is about $9000. The average being around $15,000-$20,000. I don't complain, 12% of the cost of the wedding is my fee. :)

It's an interesting and fun business... with just the 11 weddings I have planned, I plan to make a little over $15,000. As long as there is a client who wants to get married, I'm there for them. Most clients who hire an event planner usually spend quite a bit on their event.

You and your boy should go to the beach this weekend if weather permits. Time to start that tan!

91. Stressful only in the few days leading up to an event.
After a few times, you learn to start planning for the unexpected.

Story time! :D I planned a dinner event last year for a business consulting group which took place in this vast space with 40 tables of 8. I had designed these beautiful royal blue table cloths with their company logo in silver in the center to be placed on each table. The company wanted them in white with the logo in blue, so I changed it and then approved the buy. Well, three days before the event, the caterers are there setting up the tables. The CEO comes in and doesn't like the tables at all. He then calls me on my cell phone and asks if its too late to change them back to blue. Now i'm in the back trying to help the audio and light people move their equipment into place and he calls me to change an issue that was settled weeks ago. So after a mild panic, I call the company that made the cloths for me and they agreed to do a rush order, but man it was costly and would cut it close on time. So the day of the event arrives. Table cloths will be here by 2pm, guests start arriving at 6pm, dinner at 630. No problem, still have 4 hours. Caterers are supposed to be here also at 2pm to set the table, glass and silverware. 2pm comes, omg no table cloths but the caterers are early! So I start calling. The cloths are an hour late leaving the shop. Come 330pm, still no cloths! I call again, stuck in traffic. Caterers are now restless and in a state of panic and I have the florists yelling at me that they have to set the centerpieces. 415pm, yay, cloths are here! Now everyone starts running into the ballroom and I'm throwing table cloths everywhere, trying to center them as best I could, and right behind me are the crazy caterers trying to set service for over 300 in about 75 min and also have the florists finish setting the centerpieces. The CEO shows up again and sees all of us and starts laughing and has a few of his kids join in to help. I leave them to finish to attend to other matters, and ultimately we finished the setup with 10 minutes to spare.

phew... lol So yeah, things like this are common. Just a slight change from the plan could lead to major drama.

And yes, I've been to Universal Studios many times. I attend Gay Days at Disney World usually every other year and love to spend a day there as a break from all the Disney.

I found that as an adult, I eat more junk than when I was a kid. I think it's because I have nobody to stop me, haha.

Hey, the best thing to do on extended weekends, imho, is catch up on some sleep, reading and other creative type pursuits. Whether that is good film, music, theater or whatever, it's good for the mind, body and soul. :)

The extra DU time is a must!

53. Mixed bag today
It's a Skoda Fabia, small car, looks like this:

First time it's let me down in three years, but there you have it. It's the ignition coil that's gone, apparently. Easy to fix, but they haven't got one.

On the plus side, I did discover that the train ride to work is quite pleasant. :)

Hope your morning is going well.

57. Looks like a nice car, Man.
I LOVED the cars people drove in Rome! My favorite was the Smart Four-Two. LOVED THAT CAR! I hope they get it fixed and back to you quickly and for minimal expense!

63. Yeah those Smart cars are pretty wild
They reckon they can get it back to me on Saturday morning. Hopefully it won't cost me too much. Skodas are exceedingly economical on servicing, so I'm sure it would cost more if it were a different make. :)

At least you won't have to spend your entire years salary on it! I would LOVE to have those Smart cars here in the US...yeah...RIGHT!

55. Good Morning Clintmax!
Congratulations on your mini vacation dude. What will you do with all that time off? I agree lets get to the weekend whenever it starts. :D I think I may go for a hike, depending on the weather. If it rains or snows I'll pass if it's only cold I'll be OUTSIDE on a nature preserve right up the road (40) miles or so. I will think of you as I watch the waterfall on one specific stretch of the trail. Here is hoping for no precipitation :toast: :loveya:

59. G'day Clint - and to all the Crew !!
Hope your back's feeling better, mate - this 4-day break probably came at the right time. Enjoy the time off !!

Here in BrisVegas it's Thursday night almost 10pm and pouring down rain - it's been wet all day and will stay this way until Saturday, but no-one is complaining - we need the rain badly.

Also, it's the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this weekend - hopefully the weather will be good down there. I'm not going but one of the guys I work with is already there.

Cheers !!! :grouphug:

71. Morning Clint!
I thoroughly jealous about your four-day weekend. I could use a few days off myself. Been trying to "schedule" a sick day in here somewhere, but too many things to do at work. I'm shooting for next week.

We had freezing rain/snow last night and the roads are quite slick. Going to be slow going this morning.

I'll certainly be careful. Truthfully, I was hoping the weather would have been severe enough so I could just stay home, but the last time that happened a colleague picked me up. Ugh! The best laid plans.

95. Yay for long weekends!
enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

I am leaving in a few for Cooperstown NY. I may stop at the BHOF and tell them I am mad at the voters for dissing mister O'Neill and Mr. Minosa.
My connection at BHOF passed away last year (RIP Cyndi), but I still know a few people.
