I was RIGHT to say that Linda Ronstadt refered to "Silk Purses"!!!!
http://www.ronstadt-linda.com/silk.htm

I made the reference yesterday on the Guy James Show and dammmit I was RIGHT!!!!

He made a reference to the saying, "A Silk Purse From a Sows Ear" then, in response to my blank look said, "You may not be familiar with that country phrase...". WELL I WAS!!~!!!

OK. I'm OK now.

1. I heard That!! I didn't know about the "Linda Ronstandt
Song"...but I first heard that expression in Ashville, N.C. in the '70's from a friend who was indigenous to the area!

A fine expression to describe bush and the Presidency! :kick:

2. I know I sounded crazy on air but I wasn't mistaken.
I had one of those "Way Back Machine" moments that seemed, to the listeners I'm sure, incredibly STUPID.

It's been bugging me all day.

But, when all is said and over, I was right!!!!!

Is it an NC saying? IIRC I remember my relatives in Kanasas using that phrase way, way, back. Then again I'm only 35.

4. I only referenced Linda.
I've read the Swift passage before, many, many, many, many, moons ago:-).

It was an off the cuff, Linda, radio thing.
