Scary story my coworker SWEARS is true:
I dunno. Sounds like an urban myth to me. Anyhow:

My coworker, _______, has a friend who once went camping alone (ALONE) in the woods in Wisconsin. She brought a camera and slept in a tent.

When she got back from the trip and developed her film, there were several pictures of her sleeping in her tent!

Sounds like a total urban myth, but ______swears it's true, says she's seen the pictures, and the whole thing scared the crap out of me (against my better judgement) the first time I heard it.

Good night!

2. You forgot the Jesus element
that the pictures also show Jesus hovering over her body, protecting her from the guy who took the camera. Clearly, he was going to kill her - or maybe just steal her kidney - but Jesus was there to protect her, just like our soldiers in Iraq!

Pass this on to ten of your friends if you believe in Jesus, and God bless America!

3. I've heard that story as well,
And since I don't know your co-worker, that tweaks my suspicion of the Urban Legend aspect of it.

I'd check snopes, I think they have something about this on the site. I will concede that it is possible, but dayyum, how deep a sleeper is that girl?

8. It IS an urban legend.
I was just superamused that _____ fell for it. When someone says "I have a friend who heard from a friend..." they're either repeating an urban legend they heard or they're singing an REO Speedwagon song incorrectly.

42. Snopes says it's not true
Although there are true stories of photos taken unbeknown to the subject, the one about camping is a myth.

Read for yourself:

12. I do have a buddy who solo camps
an awful lot, winter, summer, whatever--he likes to camp. If he can't get anybody else to go, he goes anyway.

I used to do a lot more camping, then I got into whitewater and that takes more of my time and resources than good ol' camping.

16. Yeah, I can see men doing it more so than women. And
even more so if it was in a camper. Not to say all women would be scared to camp alone, but to me, it's like asking for a death wish or something!! MAybe I am just a baby!

My mind would start racing and wondering. Nothing wrong with it, but most women I know would feel a little leery about camping alone! Good for you for not!!

35. LOL I guess I look at things differently
I've always lived in rural places and people always ask, "Aren't you scared out there all by yourself?"

I'd be a lot more scared in the middle of a town somewhere with strange people all around me. Where I live, if someone who doesn't belong there comes around, you know it in a minute. In a town or city, they're all over the place.

Besides, who's going to find me when I'm out in the middle of nowhere camping? Or at home, for that matter.
