Have you been arrested at work?
Come on, fess up. OK I'll start. I was arrested for putting rat poison in the boss's Skinny 'n Sweet. It was an accident though, I didn't mean it at all, said redwitch with a smile as innocent as...SnowWhite. :-)

3. Yes, I was arrested last summer
by the MDA. I even have a picture of me behind bars! It was to raise money for kids with muscular dystrophy, not because I did anything illegal.

9. The VERY short version
was I worked in Vernon CA and unincorporated area past DT. I didn't know this ( thought it was part of LA) and I racked up hundreds of dollars of parking tickets in front of my office ( everyone did, employee parking lot was 3 blocks away in a bad neighborhood). Since it was such a small city the cops have plenty of time to come and arrest you, which they did. My assistant bailed me out and I paid the $350 fine (1987!) and went back to my office. ONE week later there were still 3 tickets that had not yet gone to warrant so they came and arrested me again....we went thru the same exercise. Was in a 'holding' cell twice for two hours.

12. No, but
I assisted in an arrest of someone on Alcatraz, LOL. He had gone into a closed part of the island, I noticed him, called the Law Enforcement Ranger, she learned he had a warrant and he was led off the Rock in handcuffs.

13. No, but I had papers served to me at work
And that was embarassing as hell. Five years ago, when my ex brought me to court for child support (which i was already paying voluntarily - he just likes to mess with me).

That was bad enough - I'll pass on getting arrested there, thank you very much.

20. Yep
Every year at work, we have a fundraiser where you can have someone "arrested" (by college students and professors dressed up in uniform) for whatever violation you can concoct. The students make money from the accuser and from the arrested individual who can pay to avoid jail and pay a little more to find out who had them arrested.

Last year, I had one of my colleagues in the math department arrested for "possessing weapons of math instruction" - her students thought it was hilarious!

26. Almost
There was a spare set of rooms at the office (my old landscaping job- the office was set up in an old house)- my boss rented them to me because there was no other use for them at the time. He had installed an alarm system in the building. I knew it was there, but he neglected to tell me A. It was completed. B. It had been activated. 3. What the code was. Thus, I came in after a long LONG day of work (about 9pm) and started getting ready for my shower. I suddenly heard a loud knock knock on the front door, so (half-dressed) I went to see who it was. Upon opening the door I was facing a very short cop with a very LARGE 9 mil automatic in his hand. (Those pistols look INCREDIBLY large when they're pointed at your face.)

Fortunately, after I called the boss, I satisfied the cop I wasn't a burglar or something, and life went on. After the adreneline rush faded, anyway...

All in all, it was a minor glitch. The cop didn't pull the trigger, thus all ended well. (Since boss man was signing my paycheck at the time, it would not have been advantageous to me to hold on to the moment...)

43. LOL-correction-I just remembered another occasion, but this one's funny.
When I was 16, I used to work at Opryland, which was an amusement park in Nashville. The park has since closed, but it was a great place to work.

The park had a cruise ship that went up and down the Cumberland River. One night they had an employees' cruise, and we were all going. However, I stopped by a party and got totally hammered beforehand....and I'm talking about getting so drunk that I was having blackouts - that degree of drunkenness. We went to the ship, but they wouldn't let me on because I was just too far gone (from what I was told - I don't remember that part). So they "detained" me by putting me in the security office and then they called my parents. The only thing I remember is puking on the floor of the security office (and they had carpet).

So technically I was "at work," because that was were I worked. However, I wasn't on the job, and I wasn't arrested by the cops...just detained by the security guards.

So I guess you can say I've been arrested at work twice. The funny thing is that I wasn't fired from Opryland, or even scolded. My bosses all thought it was hilarious.

I thought it was a great crying shame- to have something like "DollyWood" (or whatever the hell it was) move in and take its place was somewhat of a statement on the mentality of the money moguls, imho.

It was more fun that work.

Also, something to miss about Opryland was the live shows - and they were good, too. I don't know of any other amusement park that puts on the original musicals that Opryland did.
