I'm kinda pissed at my dad
Currently I'm looking into grad schools and am not having much luck. Well apparently my father talked to a teacher I had in high school who really liked me. She told him that if I wanted to go to UNC for grad school she would write me letters of recommendation and even go as far as placing a phone call to the powers that be (since she went through the same program that I am looking into), and from what she told him, UNC places A LOT of weight on alumni recommendation. Well he didn't even tell me that he ran into her. The same teacher saw my aunt yesterday and told her the same thing. The only difference is, my aunt told me about this. I realize that my dad doesn't want me to go far away to grad school but withholding info like this is pretty damn low. INC has one of the best athletic training programs in the country (competitive too) and I would be foolish not to at least look into it. Thank god my aunt had this conversation because I would have never known about a potentially phenomenal opportunity

1. Have you ever been to Chapel Hill?
It's really a beautiful town, and a great campus.

I know this doesn't help your situation. Just thought I'd mention it.

Good luck with everything.

2. I've been to Durham a few times...
ironically enough I grew up a big Duke fan, however if I can get into this program with a Grad assistantship (aka free ride) I'd be willing to negotiate my basketball loyalties

3. Athletiics or sports medicine?
Chapel Hill is a good place. Just think your dad meant well.
