I am back home from the hospital
and happy to be breathing easy.
I am just so happy to hug my kids, and rest in my own house.

Thanks to all well wishers!

I don't know what was worse, the shakes from the asthma drugs or the du withdrawal...

Right now I am still weak and medicated so if you see incoherent posts I can now blame the drugs instead of my normal incoherency...

By the way this is the first time I ever had this happen, I have used an inhaler infrequently but a cold I had a month ago just wouldn't let go...in fact I was being treated by my doctor for this and was on steriods and nebulized albuterol but needed the extra help a hospital stay could ony provide. What I did learn is:

1. Nurses Rock! I had great nurses! and my personal doctor is great!
2. IV lines located near your elbow suck
3. Hospital food tastes okay when your drugged!
4. There really is nothing on TV!
5. A good book is 1000000 times better than TV will ever be!
6. You will never get any real rest in the hospital.
....and most importantly.....

GOOD HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT than anything else...money and all the toys in the world can't compensate for having good health. So my Democratic Ideals were further pushed towards universal healthcare when I realized how very lucky I am to have insurance to get good healthcare and how unfortunate it is that many do not.

I am going to lay down a bit more but I had to stop by DU check out the forums and say hi!

Once again thanks for the support and have a Happy Thanksgiving to All!

21. Welcome Back!
I hope that you are feeling better.

An IV in the elbow sounds allot better then one in the neck. Both places are bad to have an IV.

25. Great!
I'm glad everything turned out well. Don't worry, take your time to settle back in, and don't push yourself too hard. Your health is more important.

Now, promise us you won't scare us like that again! :)
