Mom just called me to tell me. The son had been estranged and out of touch with his parents for years. I don't know the circumstances of how he became homeless, but he kept in touch with his sister. She told him to call them (they live in the FL panhandle) if he needs help. He told her that he wasn't going to, but wrote down the number. The authorities found the number in his wallet and called. They took the news hard and they're getting ready to go to Ft. Lauderdale. :cry:

Please hold a good thought for them.

Haven't heard back from the parents, other than they're headed for Ft. Lauderdale. :(

They were our neighbors for years before the kids grew up and they retired to Florida. I'll let you know if I hear more updates.

12. This is why I have ambivalence on the death penalty.

They were in three beatings, and one poor guy died.

Generally, I don't think the death penalty does any good. I am sure many innocents have been executed. Then, I see people like Cooey who buried poor Jessica Lunsford alive, and these guys who beat up defenseless homeless men, and I change my mind.

Some people just do not deserve to be alive.
