Ms jus_the_facts brought up Elvis' "Polk Salad Annie" and I sent her one of my favorite 'silly' versions of the song, basically Elvis totally messing around with it in an unreleased rehearsal from August 10, 1970 (he opened that night on his third Vegas season, the one documented in the film
Elvis - That's The Way It Is). I thought maybe some y'all would enjoy it, too, as sort of an offbeat tribute to Elvis' birthday. I like the unsanitized Elvis -- he was a cool guy and he had a lot of fun while making music.

Heart Of Rome (Elvis changes the words a tad, especially regarding what he's going to put in the fountains of Rome)
http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3U2WK2HZ22H8N3SAS2G1VUUMR4Memories (follows on from "Heart Of Rome" -- Elvis shows off his skills at animal sounds as well as throwing the real lyrics out the window...I
love this one)

way worse than either of the two above...not for the sensitive! :D )

http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1BSOUPKD0ET0D1AEWYV9MEVBORAlla En El Rancho Grande (Elvis loved ranchero music -- part of this random jam was officially released a few years ago)

http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2P29JQ73FKH7F37TK0VFRUQBR1Quick flashback to 1966 for unreleased alternate takes of the blues "Down In The Alley," recorded during a gospel session (Elvis cracks up, and everyone else soon follows)
http://s42.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0ZQJDH1S2I10W2IF1WN860789TFrom the same year, unreleased takes of a silly soundtrack song ("Beach Shack"...catchy and one I kinda like despite myself) with Elvis' infectious laugh pervading
