Chaco customer service!
I've got to hand it to this company. I purchased a pair of their leather flips last summer, and to my dismay the leather broke away at the base this morning when I went out to get the newspaper.

Long story short, they admitted to the defect in the particular product as their error in judgement in the production phase of that line, and they are offering me a replacement warranty of equal or lesser value, all with a customer service agent that was friendly, accomodating, and very willing to retain me as a customer. (I wish other's would take notice)

I remember a similar instance with Birkenstock with a product defect 2 months into wear, and I was told I was out of luck.

Sounds like good customer service! I'm always surprised when I get good customer service.

complete with an internet web code to do so! AND they are picking up shipping/handling to return the defective pair...

4. So, what does that mean, then? Do you get a new shoe?
Or are they repairing it?

I've never heard of a replacement warranty - or do they mean you get a new shoe, and the new warranty life-span begins with this new shoe?
