Filled out an application on line and I feel horrible
It required my social security number and my past addresses for the past 7 years. I gave them permission to do a credit and background check.
I am thinking that this was a really horrible idea.
The only reason that I did it was because I am interested in the job and that part was at the end, after I spent an hour filling out everything else that they needed.
This position is for a major company. Should they be asking stuff like that on an online application and requiring it for the application to be processed?
I already submitted it and feel awful. Should I avoid doing that in the future?

1. Did you check thier privacy policy?
Even if you submit an app in person, chances are your background info will be checked online, it's just that somebody else will type it in. I wouldn't stress it any more than any other job application.
