With two weeks left in the college football season, Ohio State is poised to get a BCS Bowl bid (most likely, a return trip to the Fiesta Bowl).
BCS rules state that if you finish in the top 6 in the BCS standings, you are guaranteed at least an at-large bid. The Buckeyes sit at #5 right now.
#6 Texas and #7 Georgia are within range to overtake Ohio State, but both need to win all their remaining games. Should Georgia win their games, they would defeat LSU, who would then tumble, most likely below the Buckeyes.
Two teams are already guaranteed BCS bids, #4 Michigan and #9 Florida State. The teams that finish #1 and #2 get bids to the Sugar Bowl. The SEC will send a team, the Big East will send another. The Big 12 and Pac-10 also have automatic bids, but those will likely go to Oklahoma and USC (who will use their spots to play in the Sugar Bowl).
Most likely, the teams that will get BCS bids are-------- Oklahoma USC LSU, Georgia or Florida (only one, possibly two) Michigan Florida State Miami, Pitt or West Virginia (only one) Ohio State
Texas would take the final bid if 2 SEC teams do not get invited. Ohio State will most likely get an at-large bid based on their fan attendance at last year's Fiesta Bowl and previous bowl appearances. Lareg crowds tempt bowl owners more than anything else.
