Judge Throws Out Letterman Restraining Order (Woman Claimed He Used Code)
<snip>

SANTA FE, N.M. -- A judge has thrown out a Santa Fe woman's restraining order against talk show host David Letterman.

Colleen Nestler had accused Letterman of using coded words to communicate with her through television.

A district court judge ruled that the restraining order granted to Nestler was invalid because the New Mexico court has no jurisdiction over Letterman, who is a resident of Connecticut.

Nestler said that without the restraining order, Letterman can come for her or send one of his "many accomplices."

She said if Letterman or any of his people come near her, she'll "break their legs."

Nestler claimed that Letterman has forced her to go bankrupt and caused her mental cruelty and sleep deprivation since May 1994.

She had requested that Letterman -- who tapes his shows in New York -- stay at least three yards away and not think of her.

Nestler said she had no proof of the allegations she made against Letterman.

1. Okay there has to be something about these wackos and Dave
He has had several really spooky ones over the years including a woman who broke into his house and was going about normal housewife type work when he got home. She was convinced that they were married. I think she ended up killing herself.

She was not the only such stalker I don't believe

Then just a year or so ago there was the maintenance guy who was going to kidnap his son.

Three yards????

I think this all goes back to him being on at 12:30 am.....you know who is up at those hours don't you???

5. It could have to do with people falling asleep with
him on television.

If they hear him while they're sleeping often enough, it doesn't seem unlikely that his presence would become important to their subconscious. Not that that would make one go crazy, but it might explain the specific manifestation of their craziness.

6. THE PRIME MINISTER OF BULGARIA???
Why the hell do I have to kill the Prime Minister of Bulgaria? Your coded messages have become strange since you switched to Omega rays. I liked chemtrails better.

By the way, what's wrong with staying up 12:30 am?

7. Nothing is wrong with it
I used to myself (wish I still could). I meant it as more of a joke on dope smokers. See post #5 above that makes some since.

11. I'm still amazed the restraining order was granted at all!
How would they propose to prevent a person from thinking of another person?

The whole thing is complete lunacy. She's a nut and so is the judge who granted the order.

12. I'm of the opinion the Judge did the correct thing...
He followed the established procedure. *EVERY* case should be taken seriously
until proven unfounded.

Like for instance... Election fraud.
