6 speeds. The instructions actually say to hang a blanket onto the floor to slow it down when the baby is really little.

18. Well uh actually

that is one of those floor mat things (with the crossing bars going overhead) and about the only toy we have. We realized that we don't have many toys or use them as we sit and talk with her and listen to music and sing and watch TV (I'm not even trying to act like there isn't a lot of that especially football which she loves). We just don't give her toys to play with. This is changing as she is grapsing and grabbing with her hands now. We have started giving her small stuffed animals to play with and she is holding onto her pacifier now.
