Battlestar Galactica coming to an iPod near you

With the recent deal reached by NBC, Battlestar Galactica will be one of the many shows you can soon download for $1.99/show to your iPod and computer to watch on the latest iTunes.

" SAN JOSE, Calif. — NBC Universal has inked a deal with Apple Computer Inc. to become the second network to sell television shows a la carte on Apple's online iTunes store, the companies announced today.

More than 300 episodes from about a dozen prime time, cable, late-night and classic TV shows are now available for $1.99 apiece, viewable on computers or downloadable on the latest, video-capable iPod.

The programming spans from the 1950s to the present, including shows from "Alfred Hitchcock Presents,'' "Dragnet,'' USA Network's "Monk,'' the Sci-Fi Channel's "Battlestar Galactica,'' and NBC's hit series "Law & Order.'' Sketches from "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'' and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien'' are also for sale.

Videos sold on iTunes are wrapped in Apple's copyright-protection technology, which allows users to store their purchased content on up to five computers and transfer them to iPods. Users cannot copy the TV shows to a CD, DVD or the Internet. An optional cable can be used to display an iPod show on a regular TV."

Most hour-long tv shows got for $50/season, which is about $2/episode.

Makes me wonder why I don't change my ways and do the same with these idiotic fad toys and cash in too... if I was cynical and anti-people, of course, but the world is so shitty I don't even tell the sweet people to go look at what is happening. They don't deserve to know what is to happen because it'll drive them crazy.
