BOONDOCKS ALERT!
As "Rainman" might say..."12 minutes, 12 minutes 'til Wapner, 12 minutes to Wapner...." I say 10 minutes to The Boondocks. On Adult Swim or the 'Toon' Channel.

11. Agreed
The Pulp Fiction send off was excellent. I think the voices of the hoods were Sam Jackson and Charlie Murphy. If not, the imitations were excellent.

6. am i the only one who's been disappointed in this cartoon?
don't get me wrong, i absolutely love the strip, but i thought mcgruder would be able to push it even further once he got out of the ultra-conservative world of the sunday comics, but it seems like he's scrapped the politics in favor of tired white people vs, black people bits that you can get out of any bad stand-up on comedy central.

i feel the real social commentary was lost in the move to TV

---and i don't like the voice they gave huey. i always imagined him much more dry and dead-pan.

9. I'm kind of disappointed, too
The social commentary is somewhat veiled. I wish it would be more overtly political.

12. He said it wouldn't be as political as the strip
his concern was that it would become dated too quickly if he kept to political plot lines. He was going to concentrate on social issues.

13. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes not so much.
I didn't like last week's episode much at all, but the one before it was pretty funny.

I agree with you about the voice. It isn't what I imagined either.

14. could have been better
but i understand his desire to do more social commentary than broad political stuff (also, consider the fact that all the episodes for this season are already done, so it's not like he can cover current events). I like the animation style, it adds a certain bit of flair, and i definately like the voice. it isn't what i expected, but it ends up working well with all the other aspects of the cartoon.

still, i really wish we could get a real cartoon of the comic
