Spine correlations to parts of body
Ok.. I have no idea what to even put in google to find this. I was at my chiroproactor this week and he was telling me about how my C2 and C6 were out and (if I'm not mistaken) contributes to headaches and stomach pains.

Where do I find a complete spinal image/whatever that tells you what controls what?

I was incredibly interested but he had other patients waiting so I couldnt ask him anymore.

(not med advice)

1. Good question
I'd start, I guess, with looking at chiropractic web sites which might have some info. Or you could call your doctor's office and ask if they have any info they could send or could suggest a website or some reading.

Just a couple of thoughts.

3. Thats where I tried..
This is so interesting.. maybe I'll forget about pharmacy and go for chiropractic. Just his explination on how everything corresponds to a part of your body was enough to spark my interest. I've been going to chiros for YEARS - ever since I got thrown from my horse and injured my back.

2. C2 and C6 are cervical vertabrae in your neck
Your neck has 6 vertabrae...

Google "C2 C6 cervical vertabrae" - the first two or three responses should be a good start.

9. That's the fun part. There's T1 and T2 that are vertabrae and
T1 and T2 that are fluids in the neck.

My T2 signal level, as seen in MRIs, is very low in my neck. So there's calcification and other things going on.

We all die at some point anyway, so I've opted to live with things. (having read up more on the spinal column, half the people argue the spine can fix itself over a LONG period of time. The other half say that once damage begins, it can not regenerate... I won't know for some time yet,but I've seen little that's positive.

There's also Subluxation Degeneration to consider; I'm toward the phase 3 stage.

10. Its so interesting IMO...
My MRI showed a bulged disc at L1/T12 area. I just find the whole practice interesting since my doctor bunks them all the time. They've helped me for the past 11 years and I'll continue to go.

My reg doc pushes pills and what not.. my chiro actually makes me feel better without feeling spaced out.

5. any neuronatomy text would have this
maybe try googling, "clinical neuroanatomy, spinal cord". You should be able to find a chart that describes all the segments of the spinal cord and the associated region.

12. this is what you need

but you probably need a lot less technical version of it. What the chart shows is for each vertebral (c= cervical t = thoracic l = lumbar) segment which parts of the skin are innervated. (This is called a dermatome)

I hope this is helpful, if you know someone with an intro to neuranotomy text, or know a good medical library you could read up more about this.

6. this sounds a bit like reflexology
Edited on Sat Dec-03-05 06:29 PM by Reverend_Smitty
try googling that and see if that is what you are looking for

on edit:
try googling Dermatomes and myotomes. They are what the nerve routes correlate to
