Name That Game...
I am played on a square board.

In the classic version there are 4 slots that are named "Start" and 4 others that are named "Home".

There were 4 colors to the game pieces. Red. Blue. Yellow. Green.

To move on the board you must draw cards that will tell you how many spaces to move. Some cards let you move forward, others make you move backwards. One other card lets you knock an opponent from the board and put your playing piece where theirs was. That card bears the name of the game.

What game am I?

(Got a game? Put in some clues and let others guess its identity.)

EDIT to add clue:

Probably the most famous board game of all time.

Sports very unusual game pieces--made out of metal.

There's a certain spot on the board that if you pass it, you collect $200.

What game is it? (Duh.)

2. Eh?
Well, at least I know I don't have a Monopoly on the game questions.

:-)

3. It would appear not.
Clue:

--You build a big old contraption, made out of towers, seesaws, stairs, buckets, and what have you in the center of the board, then move your game piece around the edge, but if you land on a certain square, then another player sets the contraption in motion with a little steel ball, and BAM! It's...?

12. Perfection is hard to come by.
I kept losing all the pieces.

New Clue: heaps of glass orbs in a tube, you slide out wooden sticks, trying to avoid an avalanche.

I was just informed that the object of the game is to go to the Candy Castle, not home.... Chutes and Ladders, maybe?

The "tell" is the involvement of cards for movement. I don't think the other pahcheesi variants had that gimmick.

God, I loved that game.
