Any rock song that features a sax solo automatically sucks two fat balls.

2. You know, I had more or less that same thought earlier tonight
while listening to some music. No sax in the music, but I saw a picture of one, and thought "if there'd be one way to ruin this song, that'd be it." Much like the best way to ruin a perfectly good chocolate cake is to put zucchini in it.

6. 50 great saxophonists, one great reason they weren't often asked to play
in rock bands - because the rock musicians didn't want their songs killed.

I know a few of those guys, Tom Scott for instance, popped up in the rock music, but it only proves my point, to me anyway! And it should be noted that I love the King Curtis version of 'A Whiter Shade of Pale.'

It should also be noted that I love zucchini, just not in chocolate cake.

Good list of massively talented folk, by the way.

I read that a long time ago and thought it was interesting.

AFAIC, you can put a tenor sax in any kind of music and I'll like it. I love that instrument.

19. I saw Roxy Music LIVE on stage in NY at the Garden 10/18/1971
Opening for Jethro Tull and fell in love with the sax at that moment. Brian Ferry in a black nightgown, the band in black leather, smoking dope in the audience and the anticipation of youth.

Virginia Plain brought the house down. No one in the audience had heard of them, and this was at the peak of early NY FM radio influence by WNEW-FM, Scot Muni, Allison Steele.

Amazing times. Sold out the Garden, we had seats 6&7 in the 11th row. The ticket stub is framed on the wall to my left. It was the first live concert in NY I ever went to.

Make me a deal and make it straight

all signed and sealed, i'll take it

to Robert E. Lee i'll show it

i hope and pray he don't blow it 'cause

we´ve been around a long time just tryin' and tryin' and tryin' to

take me for an airplane ride

take me for a six days wonder but don't you

don't you throw my pride aside besides

what's real and make believe

baby Jane's in Acapulco we're all flyin' down to Rio

Throw me a line i'm sinking fast

clutching at straws can't make it

havana sound we're trying hard edge the hipster jiving

you're so sheer you're so chic

Flavors of the mountain steamline

so me and you, just we two got to search for something new

Far beyond the pale horizon

Or synthesizers. At least one can play a chord on a synth. Not so with a sax. And sax players! Geez, what losers. (Blue-Jay, you paying attention?!?!?)

44. Ah, That Was More For Blue-Jay
I've heard him play. He's good. I just hoped he would see my little jab!

Actually, i can play a little. But, i only learned it so i knew how it worked. Then, when i use synths on stage to get a sax sound, i think more like a sax player, than a piano player. I thought that was important for all the instruments i emulate. (Did the same on trumpet and violin. Still have the violin!)

You're not a loser! (Whew! Now my conscience won't bother me because i said that out loud!)

28. you are so wrong
First: The sax was not an addition to rock. It was there at the conception in the song Rocket 88.

Second: Exile On Main Street, lots of sax, no lameness

Third: The use of the phrase "sucks two fat balls" as a negative description implies either homophobia or laziness, both of which are quite lame.

47. Oh please, I didn't realize that...
homosexual men were the only ones that sucked balls. The phrase "sucks two fat balls" does not imply homophobia. It is a figure of speech just like "blow goats", "sucks ass", and "eats shit". If you want to talk about lame, it doesn't get much lamer than calling someone a homophobe over a joke post.
