What makes your day, no matter how wacked everything it is?
What makes my day is seeing

Doug's smile, rare but totally worth the wait.

Seeing my old dog's tail thump because she can smell us coming even if she can't hear.

The beach light creeping in through the windows, especially early before the street noise starts.

Crazy Guggenheim Threads.

My cat Spanky, who hugs with his back feet. Big old hugger.

5. When LeftyKid snuggles with me on the sofa and we watch Star Trek,
curling in bed up with soy cocoa and a good book, hot baths with lavender oil and phone calls from my favorite DUer all make even the craziest day.

6. My niece or nephew. Spending even a few moments makes me smile
all day.

My first cup of coffee in the morning.

A call from my best friend.

Watcing my dog do crazy full speed laps around my backyard, leaping over tall ceramic pots in a single bound and stretching out his whole body as he sails over the walkway. This is our daily ritual when I get home from work. Show off.

The sights and smells of stepping foot in a new city for the first time. Each city has it's own smell. I swear.

27. Oh thanks, the problem is not feeding
The problem is he has no social skills. He thinks that my cats are for fighting. He just doesn't get it yet and I hope I can change his "thinking" very soon. I have made tremendous progress with him, like I can pet his head and back and chin and he can play interact with me but there's a bunch of things that have to get straightened out before he comes in, like attacking my cats or me is not okay. This is the hardest part. I think the best place for him is with a person who has no cats and I am trying to convince a friend of mine to take him (the friend has no other pets who may possibly get mauled)

30. What makes my day...
14 dogs barking when I walk through the door. Not at me, but to me. Happy barks. I think that they know that were I not, neither would they be anymore.

My inbox. Both my DU and my personal e-mail boxes always have good things in them, from people I care about and want to hear from.

A good workout. My day can be total shit, but when I hit the gym, it all melts away. That, and I guess the pain masks the misery.

The ladies here on DU. Oh, yeah.

Thoughts of Sacramento.

Doing it doggie style (Flying Dog "Doggie Style" Pale Ale).

34. When I'm just standing there
in the kitchen cooking or doing dishes and my hubband walks by and just casually touches me, rubs my back or hugs me for no reason except that he loves me. He doesn't have to do it and that's what makes it so special, that he just feels compelled to.
