2. I love Autumn Walk and Barney's Last Autumn and Et Tu, Brute

Normally, I wouldn't go for an animal picture since I think most people do them "cutely" and not artistically, and voters tend to vote for them because they're cute, basing their judgment on hollow and undeveloped hyper-emotionalism, totally discounting any artistic value (or more likely, lack thereof), but Barney's is awesome - clearly an older dog on his last journey, and I love that it's not a frontal, but a silhouette from behind, in the loneliness of the garage. This is an excellent photo, well composed and developed, and artistic without the cloying sugaryness of most pet pictures, and truly emotional as opposed to manipulative and vacuous, and one that I would very much love to have on my wall. I'd love a 30 inch print of that one, as well as of the other two.

From the moment that Autumn Walk was posted in the photo group I have loved it - another strong, wondrous composition and use of color. The strong diagonal of the crane, with all the white space above it - perfection!!

And Et Tu, Brute - what can I say? An excellent shot, with vibrant leaves against the chaos of the leafless and almost white branches. Pure chaos, the yin and yang of death and life, so apropos to "Et tu, Brute". Another one that I would happily put a huge print, preferably a 48x48 one, on my wall.

23. "Barney's Last Autumn" is an outstanding photograph.

It does what visual art should always aspire to do, tell a story while summoning a question.

I love that photograph.
