I do. Like it was yesterday.

On edit: Pure coincidence, this happened Nov 18, 1985.

4. Yeah. My sister thinks it was intentional.
I don't. LT was getting the sack. He looked genuninely upset when he was flagging the medical staff.

That video makes me nauseous to watch. I have broken many bones, and I get that same feeling just watching the video. My breaks weren't half as bad as his, though.

7. It was #55 that did the real damage.
Taylor slid in and bent Theismann's knee, but it was the other guy that did the real damage. That's football on any given day. Bad luck.

9. Looked like if 53 wasn't there, Taylor would have just been
able to bring him down straight. But in Taylor jumping over 53, he sort of landed on Joe's leg. Then everybody else landed on him, too.

He probably would have had 2 good years left in him. Maybe more. But, at least he got a ring.

10. It still looks like it was 55 piling on that did the damage.
He knew it too because he starts making a bridge over Theismann. But maybe you're right. Who knows? It's like the old argument about did Ruffian kick herself, just step wrong, or was she put out there with a fracture no one knew about. Who knows?

11. I don't know how all his knee ligaments weren't torn as well.
His foot got caught when the rest of the guys were piling on. Didn't look like a penalty type piling on, they were just following through on the tackle.

That shit had to hurt worse after the endorphins wore off. Ick.

12. I think the ligaments must have been torn.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/17/AR2005111701635_2.html

Arlington Hospital, Jackson began what he called a "meticulous surgery" on Theismann's leg. "You started off with a gallon of saline solution, and you just kept washing it and washing it," he said. "The problem was that the membrane around the bone had been stripped away. It took awhile before we felt comfortable putting one bone against the other. Then you have to cast it so it doesn't move. We put him in a long leg cast with a window so we could constantly clean the wound."

13. I never heard them talk about the knee ligaments, though.
It was a compound fracture, and the bone actually broke through his sock. Messy field dirt. Nasty germs.

16. Looks like Jim Burt was waving for the med staff, too.
The numbers on his jersey were like 6 4.

I was looking at all the old 'Skins in that, too. Riggins, Clark, the old Hogs. Those were the good ol days of the NFC East.

Looks like we may be back to those days. At least this year.

17. Definately,
the Giants and skins are back on top and the young guys, namely Eli and Santana, look like they're for real.

19. I have learned the last few seasons not to get my hopes up too much.
I would like to see the Skins eke a playoff spot.

Who knows?

18. I do remember that.
Besides a brief flirtation with being a Chicago Bull's fan, and occasional following of the English Premiership, my only other "sports investment," was in the mid-1980s Washington Redskins. I think I was about nine, when that happened.

I had a vendetta against the state of New York for several years.
