2. I know what you mean.

I was thinking the other day about the Bible. If a movie producer was to make a movie based on any number of violent, incestuous, and sadistic stories from the Bible and changed the names and times, the movie would be banned form theaters in this country. People would not know the story came from the Bible and they'd ban it. They'd never ban the Bible though. Yet, they tell young children to read their Bibles. Do what? Okay, I guess I cannot win, but it's so true.

You know I saw something recently that said that liberals would block Jesus Christ from SCOTUS if Bush nominated him. I laughed. Bush would never nominate him. Who are they kidding?

3. I've said that more than once

I was actually reading over the first page of an old research paper I did for college. It had a running list of how many episodes of incest, rape, murder and so on were in the Bible (I sort of wish I'd kept it now). It's scary to think that people want their kids to read that stuff, but have hissies over them reading "Harry Potter". :eyes:

actually banned Harry Potter books. They were burning them at one point. They are so silly. I wish they had to look at themselves through our eyes. Maybe then they'd realize just how crazy they really are.

Then pass it out to fundie wingnuts without telling them right away what the book is. Once they're frothing about how the book has to be burned or banned, then I'll tell them what it is and laugh my ass off all the way home. :rofl:

6. That would make for a great full fledged project.

An entire book of short stories with no mention of the Bible. Once the uproar (controversy) happens, the author begins to ask the caller or complainers what specific part they are talking about and then spring the news on them.

I may still have an old floppy with the info on it. Then it will only be a bit of research as opposed to a ton of it.
