Based on your feedback, I made a few more changes to the icons.

Based on response, it was clear that we needed to make a few changes to the new icons. Somehow "cartoony" and "Fisher-Price" wasn't quite what we were going for. :D

The the four icons on each person's posts weren't intuitive enough. And they were too bright. And too big. All of which is problematic since they're the icons you see over and over again on every post. So, I've changed them.

I think these are better. They're a little smaller, they're more intuitive, and they're not quite so bright.

At the very least you could have put a target around the head of that ignore dummy.

And now they (these dummies) don't match stylistically with the page-top icons.

13. A surprising difficult question, actually.

I think that the color is part of it. Maybe if the dummies were like a purple grey, light purple, or something (something not too bright). And the to-the-right alignment of the "x" and "+" are wrong; these should be to the left. (A little higher would also be nice.) There is also something that is just shape-related that pricks at me, but this is harder to put words to -- maybe the effect of two of the exact same shape being next to each other is part of it.

But I am also accustomed at times to talk in riddles, and the whole icons-that-look-like-dummies thing strikes me as bad "Feng Shui".

The odd dummy is probably ok, but too many is too much, I feel.

But it's really a matter of taste -- and mine is a little different.

but the new icons suck.

I don't think they are "intuitive", and I don't think they are elegant. The old ones had a certain industrialness to them, yes, I'll grant that - but they also had artistry. The new icons are more like a musical act that Bob Geffen would come up with after a year of demographic studies and surveys of the "target audience" and color tests and massive amounts of hired consultants from everything from advertising to psychologists to McKinsey & Co. to help them with "leveraging" of the new musical "talent".
