My insurance company lied.....how mad should I be?
My wife put in a phone call to the insurance company to find a new doctor. Today, I answer the phone (called ID showed it to be UHC Health Care) and a woman asks to speak to my wife.

I ask "May I tell her who's calling, please?" like I always do.

Her answer...."Her doctor's office."

I KNEW this was a lie and I was a bit put off, so I asked "which doctor's office, so I may tell her." She wouldn't answer me, so I identified myself as her husband.

She again asked for Sue, so I said "I know my wife has no doctor's office in the 713 area code, so who is this?

She told me she was from the insurance company, so I accused her of lying to me.

I know that they have to maintain confidentiality, but that does NOT include lying to someone. I demanded to speak to her superviser, and she put me on hold. When she came back, she said her superviser was unavailable and would call me back. I demanded her name so I could properly identify weho had lied to me, and she hung up on me.

How mad should I be?
What should I do next?

2. Call your state AG
He'll be able to access phone logs easily enough. If he wants to.

At best, a warning letter might be sent.

At worst, you'll be red-flagged at your insurance company for being a trouble maker and your claims will now be rejected five times before payment instead of the usual three.

10. Call Betty Montgomery, the AG?
She's a GOP repuke personified, like almost all public officials in Ohio now, who doesn't give a shit about anything but big business, corporations, and the insurance companies. She's far more likely to listen to and care about Jeff's insurance company than she is about him or any of the other members of the great unwashed masses.

Jeff, if I were you, I would DEFINITELY make a stink about this to the insurance company, DO NOT let them get away with it. They'll just think they can keep pulling that shit.

12. That's right, duh, how could I have
forgotten that, lol! Doesn't matter, though, Petro's the same way, they are all GOP big business screw-the-little-guy whores, and the sheeple just keep voting them in year after year. Then they complain about how bad the people they voted in are and how bad the repuke GOP is when they continue to vote them in!

Your insurance company's in Houston? Ewww! :P

Maintain confidentiality? What fresh hell is that? If the lie were the other way around, I could see that argument, possibly. :wtf:

Oh by the way, my former boss is an investigator for the Texas Dept. of Insurance.

5. Contact the regulatory agency for your state that oversees the
insurance companies. This is BLATANT fraud.

Also, call a lawyer to see what you can do to stop this from happening again. Not to sue them, but to get their panties in a wad, and make them sweat.

Scheming bastards.

7. Regulation is illegal in Texas.
They are real men and don't need the government to tell them how to do business.
